Based on Three Rivers’ “Cultural Etiquette”, Clemetson’s “The Racial Politics of Speaking Well”, Spring’s “Freedom of Speech vs. Politically Correct Language”, and Leo’s “Free Inquiry? Not on Campus” and your own observations and experience, write an essay dealing with issues of cultural sensitivity and language use. Craft an effective thesis statement. Make an argument of your own about these issues, and use both paraphrased and directly quoted material from the texts to support and illustrate your ideas.
