Please, discuss the importance of glyphs and pictographs in the understanding of Mayan culture and society. 

I asked Dr. Martin about the meaning of color in glyphs and paintings, Dr. Martin said that scholars don’t know yet what the color means, but indicated that changes in form may relate to aesthetic reasons more than specific changes in meaning. What do you think of that? Can you think of changes in our language that relate to aesthetic reasons (phonetics is paramount)? How does instant messaging has altered language?
