The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 focuses on bettering nutrition and providing
food for low-income families with children. The legislation provided funding for a few programs
such as the National School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program, etc to implement the
act. In the first time in over 30 years, the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act allowed USDA to
improve school lunches and breakfast programs for millions of children.
