We all have our values, morals, belief system, etc. When tasked with representing a client, we take the good with the bad. Some of the client’s past behaviors might be offensive to our sense of right or wrong.
Think about what behaviors a person could have done to a hypothetical family member (not your specific family member) that, according to your value or belief system, morals, etc., might cause you difficulty in your position as a legal assistant/paralegal.
Name at least three behaviors or acts and describe why each presents a problem for you. Do you think you could put your own beliefs, value system, or biases aside to be able to carry out your duties? There is no right or wrong answer, but please be honest and comprehensive in your discussion. You do not need to air your personal experiences.
You can also refer to recent stories in the news or articles on the internet, but if you do, cite them as you would any source.
